According to the Atlanta Business Journal, four Georgia counties, including three in metro Atlanta, were among the top 10 for bankruptcy filings in December, Columbia Law School Professor Ronald Mann.

The figures, compiled for the National Bankruptcy Research Center, found Henry County, Ga., had the second-most filings with 1,786 per million.

Walton County, Ga., had the fifth-most with 1,596 per million.

In sixth place was Douglas County, Ga., with 1,578 per million.

Rockdale County, Ga., had the ninth-most -- 1,553 per million.

The National Bankruptcy Research Center said the national filing rate increased from 493 to 508 per million adults in December.
